Dwight Dykstra (CRD #: 1028210), a former broker and an investment adviser registered with Aegis Wealth Management LLC, has entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent agreement, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on October 14, 2020.

On October 7, 2020, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) alleged that Mr. Dykstra received compensation for raising $2 million through the sale of promissory notes without providing written notice to his firm, which is against the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA’s) rules. FINRA Rule 3280 states that brokers are not allowed to participate in a private securities transaction without providing written notice to their firm. This written notice must state their role in the transaction as well as any information about the compensation they received. FINRA alleges that the issuer paid Mr. Dykstra $67,500 for his role.

Dwight Dykstra consented to a civil fine of $10,000. The AWC also required that Mr. Dystra return $67,500 and agree to a yearlong suspension, starting October 19, 2020, and ending October 18, 2021. You can read a copy of the AWC here.

Dwight Dykstra has passed the Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, the Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, the Series 7 General Securities Representative Examination, and the Series 6 Investment Company Products / Variable Contracts Representative Examination. He is a registered investment adviser in Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Texas.
