Kevin Meadows (CRD#: 2878889), a former broker with IBN Financial Services, has been suspended from the securities industry, according to his BrokerCheck record accessed on February 20, 2020.
On January 28, 2020, Kevin Meadows entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC) agreement with FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He consented to FINRA’s findings that he traded excessively and made unsuitable trades in an elderly customer’s accounts. He also consented to FINRA’s sanction—a suspension. The suspension will last for three months, from February 18, 2020 to May 17, 2020. A copy of Kevin Meadows’s AWC can be viewed here.
This is not the first disclosure on Kevin Meadows’s BrokerCheck record. On May 27, 2013, he was permitted to resign from First Allied Securities after the firm reviewed Kevin Meadows’s trading activity and determined that his “investment methodology was inconsistent with its own.”
On March 29, 2006, a customer filed a complaint against Kevin Meadows, alleging that he made unauthorized trades and used margin without authorization. Clients who use margin borrow money to invest and put their investments up as collateral. A broker should not put investments on margin without a customer’s explicit permission. The client requested $135,481.71 in damages, and the matter was settled for $50,000.
