Publicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on December 18, 2018 indicate that Arizona-based Royal Alliance Associates broker/adviser John Farmer has been named in a pending FINRA complaint alleging he participated in an unapproved and undisclosed outside business activity. Fitapelli Kurta is interested in hearing from investors who have complaints regarding Mr. Farmer (CRD# 5354041).
John Farmer has spent nine years in the securities industry and has been registered with Royal Alliance Associates in Prescott, Arizona since 2011. He was previously registered with UBS Financial Services in Phoenix, Arizona (2007-2009). He has passed three securities industry examinations: Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination), which he obtained on April 27, 2011; SIE (Securities Industry Essentials Examination), which he obtained on October 1, 2018; and Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination), which he obtained on August 3, 2007. He is a registered broker and investment adviser with six US states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Utah, and Washington.
According to his BrokerCheck report, he has been named in a pending regulatory complaint by FINRA.
In November 2018 he was named in a FINRA complaint detailing allegations that he participated in an undisclosed, unapproved outside business activity involving the referral of customers, including firm customers, to a dealer of precious metal bullion coins, for which he received referral fees totaling about $4,663. According to FINRA’s complaint, firm policy prohibited representatives from aiding customers’ purchases or sales of gold, silver or other precious metals; firm policy also allowed representatives only to sell approved products, per FINRA, and Mr. Farmer allegedly failed to disclose this activity in writing “via an outside business request form to his member firm.” The complaint regarding these alleged activities remains pending.
